Freeport City is a one of the Brazoria County, Texas, located in Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. Freeport City had an official population of 12708 in 2000. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 12494, making it Texas's 178th largest. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 13.28 square miles (34.4 sq km), of which, 11.88 square miles (30.77 sq km) of it is land and 1.4 square miles (3.63 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 178th largest by total area in Texas.
