Franklin City is a city located in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 29494 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 35500, It is the 23rd most populous in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It covers total area of 34.72 sq mi (89.92 square kilometre), of which, 34.63 square miles (89.69 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.09 square miles (0.23 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the tenth largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 29494 people, 76 households, and 48 families residing in the city. The population density was 851.8 people per square mile (328.88/kmē), it would be the 292nd most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. There were 10936 housing units at an average density of 315.8 per square mile (121.93/kmē). The average household size was 2.58 people, and the average family size was 3.06 people.
