Franklin City is a city located in the Williamson County, Tennessee, United States. The population of the city was 41842 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 58481, It is the tenth largest by population in the U.S. state of Tennessee. The city comprises an area of 30.11 sq mi (77.98 square kilometre), of which, 30.03 square miles (77.78 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.08 square miles (0.21 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 15th largest by total area in Tennessee.

As of the census of 2000, there were 41842 residents, 5369 households, and 3232 families in the city.
