It has total area of 298.89 mi˛ (774.12 square kilometre), of which, 292.54 square miles (757.68 square kilometre) of it is land and 6.35 square miles (16.45 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the fifth largest by total area among Texas. It is ranks 17 in the size of its inland waterways in Texas.
