Fort Thomas City is a city in the Campbell County, Kentucky, United States. In 2000, the population was 16495. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 15222, It is the 27th largest by population in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The city encompasses an area of 6.43 miē (16.65 kmē ), of which, 5.67 square miles (14.69 kmē) of it is land and 0.76 square miles (1.97 kmē) of it is water, it is the 59th largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks ninth in the size of its inland waterways in Kentucky.

As of the census of 2000, there were 16495 people in the city, organized into 6742 households, and 4338 families residing in the city. The population density was 2909.8 people per square mile (1123.48/kmē), it would be the 88th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Kentucky.
