Fort Smith City is a city located in the Sebastian County, Arkansas, United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Fort Smith City is home to 80268 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 84716, making it the second most populous in Arkansas. The city extends throughout a territory of 52.94 square miles (137.11 sq km ), of which, 50.35 square miles (130.41 sq km) of it is land and 2.59 square miles (6.71 sq km) of it is water, it is the fourth largest by area in the U.S. state of Arkansas. It is ranks first in the size of its inland waterways in Arkansas.
