Fort Meade City is a city in the Polk County, Florida, United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Fort Meade City is home to 5691 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 5723, giving it the 388th largest population among Florida. Its area is just over 5.02 square miles (13 kmē), of which, 4.98 square miles (12.9 kmē) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 kmē) of it is water, making it Florida's 328th largest by total area.
