According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Fort Meade Cdp is home to 9882 inhabitants. making it Maryland's 118th largest. The census designated place has a total area of 6.6 sq mi (17.09 sq km), of which, 6.59 square miles (17.07 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 105th largest by area in the U.S. state of Maryland.
