Fort Lauderdale City is one of the city of Broward County, Florida, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. It is home to over 152397 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the estimated population was 183126, making it Florida's seventh largest. Its area is just over 36.02 square miles (93.29 kmē), of which, 31.73 square miles (82.18 kmē) of it is land and 4.29 square miles (11.11 kmē) of it is water, it is the 33rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.
