Fort Bend County is a county located in the United States of Texas. As of 2000 the population was 354452. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 532141, making it the tenth most populous county in Texas. The county comprises an area of 886.05 mi˛ (2294.86 sq km), of which, 874.64 square miles (2265.31 sq km) of it is land and 11.41 square miles (29.55 sq km) of it is water, it is the 75th smallest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 354452 people in the county, organized into 110915 households, and 93040 families residing in the county. The population density was 405.3 people per square mile (156.49/km˛), it is the 11th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Texas. There were 115991 housing units at an average density of 132.6 per square mile (51.2/km˛). The average household size was 3.14 and the average family size was 3.46. In the county Population was distributed with 32% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 32.3% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 5.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.3 males. In July 2008, its estimated population was 532141, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 62.39% White, 20.87% Black or African American, 0.44% American Indian, 14.69% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, and 1.54% from two or more races.
