Follansbee City is a United States city located in the Brooke County, West Virginia, United States. The population of the city was 3115 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 2855, It is the 45th most populous in the U.S. state of West Virginia. It is spread over 2.09 miē (5.41 kmē), of which, 1.77 square miles (4.58 kmē ) of it is land and 0.32 square miles (0.83 kmē) of it is water, it is the 86th largest by area in the U.S. state of West Virginia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3115 people, 1340 households, and 911 families residing in the city. The population density was 1757.9 people per square mile (678.73/kmē), giving it the 74th most densely populated city among the West Virginia. There were 1453 housing units at an average density of 820.9 per square mile (316.95/kmē). The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.86. In the city the population was spread out, with 21.3% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 24.8% from 25 to 44, 26.2% from 45 to 64, and 20.4% who were 65 or older.
