Fluvanna County is a one of the county from Virginia's 135 counties, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 20047. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 25544, giving it the 65th largest population among Virginia's county. The county extends throughout a territory of 290.21 square miles (751.64 square kilometre ), of which, 287.37 square miles (744.28 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.84 square miles (7.36 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 73rd largest by total area in Virginia.

The population density was 69.8 people per square mile (26.95/kmē), it would be the 82nd most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Virginia. There were 8018 housing units at an average density of 27.9 per square mile (10.77/kmē). The average household size was 2.59 and the average family size was 2.93. The population's age distribution was 23.6% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 31.7% from 25 to 44, 24.4% from 45 to 64, and 14% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 86.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.2 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 25544, The racial makeup of the county was 20596 White, 4408 Black or African American, 40 American Indian, 157 Asian, 9 Native Hawaiian, and 334 from two or more races.
