Floyd County is a county located in the United States of Georgia. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Floyd County is home to 90565 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 95980 in July 2008, It is Georgia's 24th most populous county. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 518.46 miē (1342.81 kmē), of which, 513.13 square miles (1329 kmē) of it is land and 5.33 square miles (13.8 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 23rd largest by total area among Georgia's county.

The population density was 176.5 people per square mile (68.15/kmē), it is Georgia's 30th most densely populated county. There were 36615 housing units at an average density of 71.4 per square mile (27.57/kmē). The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 3.02. In the county the population was spread out, with 24.6% under the age of 18, 10.8% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 106.7 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 110.8 females. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 95980, The racial makeup of the county was 83.63% White, 13.34% Black or African American, 0.34% American Indian, 1.51% Asian, 0.13% Native Hawaiian, and 1.05% from two or more races.
