Flower Mound Town is one of the town of Denton and Tarrant counties, Texas, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. The population of town in 2000 stood at 50702 as per the Census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 69307, It is the 48th largest by population in the U.S. state of Texas. The town comprises an area of 43.37 square miles (112.33 sq km), of which, 40.87 square miles (105.85 sq km) of it is land and 2.5 square miles (6.47 sq km) of it is water, making it Texas's 47th largest by total area.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 50702 people, 16179 households, and 14262 families living in the town. The population density was 1240.4 people per square mile (478.92/kmē), making its Texas's 449th most densely populated town. There were 16833 housing units at an average density of 411.9 per square mile (159.04/kmē). The average household size was 3.12 and the average family size was 3.34. In the town the population is diverse age-wise, with 34.8% under the age of 18, 4.2% from 18 to 24, 39.5% from 25 to 44, 18.8% from 45 to 64, and 2.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.9 males. The median age was 33.3 years, the median age of male residents at 33.4 and the median age of female residents at 33.2. The racial makeup of the town was 90.24% White, 2.92% Black or African American, 0.35% American Indian, 3.05% Asian, 0.05% Native Hawaiian, 1.61% from two or more races and 1.77% Other races.
