Florence County is a county in the United States of South Carolina. Florence County had an official population of 125761 in 2000. Its population was estimated at 132800 in July 2008, giving it the 12th largest population among South Carolina's county. It has total area of 803.74 square miles (2081.68 square kilometre), of which, 799.84 square miles (2071.58 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.9 square miles (10.1 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 12th largest by area in the U.S. state of South Carolina.

Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 132800, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 75765 White, 54381 Black or African American, 378 American Indian, 1281 Asian, 28 Native Hawaiian, and 967 from two or more races.
