Florence City is a city in the Boone County, Kentucky, United States. As of 2000 the population was 23551. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 27745, making it the 13th most populous in Kentucky. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.9 square miles (25.64 kmē), of which, 9.87 square miles (25.56 kmē) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 kmē) of it is water, making it Kentucky's 30th largest by total area.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 23551 people, 9640 households, and 6071 families residing in the city. The population density was 2385.6 people per square mile (921.09/kmē), making its Kentucky's 109th most densely populated city.
