Florence City is a city located in Lauderdale County, Alabama, in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. Florence City had an official population of 36264 in 2000. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 37877, making it the 11th most populous in Alabama. It covers total area of 25.03 square miles (64.83 square kilometre), of which, 24.93 square miles (64.57 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 32nd largest by total area in Alabama.
