Flora City is one of the city of Clay County, Illinois, located towards the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 5086. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 4772, making it the 319th most populous in Illinois. Its area is just over 4.44 sq mi (11.5 kmē), making it Illinois's 247th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5086 people, 2127 households, and 1325 families living in the city.
