Fisher County is a one of the county from Texas's 254 counties, located in Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 4344. In July 2008, its estimated population was 3912, It is the 45th smallest in terms of population. Its area is just over 901.74 sq mi (2335.5 square kilometre), of which, 901.16 square miles (2333.99 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.58 square miles (1.5 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 158th largest in terms of geographical size.


According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 4344 people, 1785 households, and 1245 families living in the county. The population density was 4.8 people per square mile (1.85/kmē), making it the 53rd least densely populated county in Texas. There were 2277 housing units at an average density of 2.5 per square mile (0.97/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.39 persons, and the average family size was 2.93 persons. In the Fisher County, 23.9% of the population was under the age of 18, 6.3% were 18 to 24, 23% were 25 to 44, 24.1% were 45 to 64, and 22.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.8 males.
