Finney County is a county in the United States of Kansas. In 2000, county's population was 40523 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 40998, making it the 11th most populous county in Kansas. The county spans an area of 1302.62 miē (3373.77 kmē), of which, 1301.77 square miles (3371.57 kmē) of it is land and 0.84 square miles (2.18 kmē) of it is water, it is the second largest by area in the U.S. state of Kansas.


As of the census of 2000, there were 40523 people in the county, organized into 12948 households, and 9750 families living in the county. The population density was 31.1 people per square mile (12.01/kmē), making its Kansas's 26th most densely populated county. There were 13763 housing units at an average density of 10.6 per square mile (4.09/kmē). It has an average household size was 3.09 persons, and the average family size was 3.55 persons.
