Fillmore County is a county located in Nebraska, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 6634. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 6001, It is 50th most populous county in Nebraska. The county comprises an area of 576.62 sq mi (1493.44 kmē), of which, 576.46 square miles (1493.02 kmē) of it is land and 0.16 square miles (0.41 kmē) of it is water, making it Nebraska's 45th largest county by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6634 people, 2689 households, and 1802 families residing in the county. The population density was 11.5 people per square mile (4.44/kmē), it is 44th most densely populated county in Nebraska. There were 2990 housing units at an average density of 5.2 per square mile (2.01/kmē). The average household size was 2.37 persons, and the average family size was 2.95 persons. The population's age distribution was 26.3% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 24% from 25 to 44, 23.3% from 45 to 64, and 21.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.3 males. Its population was estimated at 6001 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 98.12% White, 0.22% Black or African American, 0.88% American Indian, 0.03% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 0.73% from two or more races.
