Ferry County is one of the 39 county of Washington, located towards the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. In 2000, the population was 7260. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 7353, making it Washington's fourth smallest county. Its area is just over 2257.46 square miles (5846.79 sq km), of which, 2203.98 square miles (5708.28 sq km) of it is land and 53.48 square miles (138.51 sq km) of it is water, it is the 12th largest in terms of geographical size.

The population density was 3.3 people per square mile (1.27/kmē), making its Washington's least densely populated county. There were 3775 housing units at an average density of 1.7 per square mile (0.66/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.49 persons, and the average family size was 2.95 persons. Age range in the county was well distributed with 26.9% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 23.4% from 25 to 44, 29.5% from 45 to 64, and 12.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 107.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 105.2 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 7353, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 77.57% White, 0.23% Black or African American, 18.43% American Indian, 0.3% Asian, 0.1% Native Hawaiian, and 3.37% from two or more races.
