As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 106465, It is Georgia's 21st most populous county. It is spread over 199.25 mi˛ (516.06 sq km), of which, 197.05 square miles (510.36 sq km ) of it is land and 2.2 square miles (5.7 sq km) of it is water, it is the 18th smallest in terms of geographical size.
