Faulkner County, Arkansas is a county located in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. The county has a population of 86014 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 106823, making it the fifth most populous county in Arkansas. Its area is just over 664.01 square miles (1719.78 square kilometre), of which, 647.38 square miles (1676.71 square kilometre) of it is land and 16.63 square miles (43.07 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 37th largest by area in the U.S. state of Arkansas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 86014 people, 31882 households, and 22454 families living in the county. The population density was 132.9 people per square mile (51.31/kmē), giving it the fifth most densely populated county among the Arkansas. There were 34546 housing units at an average density of 53.4 per square mile (20.62/kmē). The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.04. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 25.6% under the age of 18, 15.3% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 19.5% from 45 to 64, and 9.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.3 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 106823, The racial makeup of the county was 92675 White, 11361 Black or African American, 542 American Indian, 879 Asian, 40 Native Hawaiian, and 1326 from two or more races.
