Farmington City is a city located in St. Francois County, Missouri, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 13924. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 16097, making it Missouri's 49th largest. It has total area of 9 miē (23.31 kmē), of which, 8.95 square miles (23.18 kmē) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 kmē) of it is water, making it Missouri's 61st largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 13924 people, 4647 households, and 2908 families residing in the city. The population density was 1555 people per square mile (600.39/kmē), making its Missouri's 156th most densely populated city.
