As per the 2000 census, census designated place has a population of 4098 inhabitants. It is the 37th most populous in the U.S. state of Maine. It is spread over 4.05 sq mi (10.49 square kilometre), of which, 4.03 square miles (10.44 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 70th largest by size in Maine.
