Fannin County is a county located in the United States of Georgia. In 2000, the population was 19798. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 22618, It is the 80th most populous county in the U.S. state of Georgia. The county encompasses an area of 391.43 sq mi (1013.8 kmē ), of which, 385.74 square miles (999.06 kmē) of it is land and 5.69 square miles (14.74 kmē) of it is water, making it Georgia's 63rd largest county by total area.

The population density was 51.3 people per square mile (19.81/kmē), it is the 88th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Georgia. There were 11134 housing units at an average density of 28.9 per square mile (11.16/kmē). The average household size was 2.35 people, and the average family size was 2.8 people. In the Fannin County, 20.9% of the population was under the age of 18, 7% were 18 to 24, 24.9% were 25 to 44, 28.2% were 45 to 64, and 19% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.8 males.
