Fallon County is a county in the United States of Montana. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 2837 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 2716, It is the 15th least populous county in the U.S. state of Montana. The county extends throughout a territory of 1623.02 miē (4203.6 kmē ), of which, 1620.33 square miles (4196.64 kmē) of it is land and 2.69 square miles (6.97 kmē) of it is water, making it the 11th smallest by size in Montana.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 2837 people, 1140 households, and 804 families residing in the county. The population density was 1.8 people per square mile (0.69/kmē), giving it the 36th most densely populated county among the Montana. There were 1410 housing units at an average density of 0.9 per square mile (0.35/kmē). The average household size was 2.45 persons, and the average family size was 2.96 persons. Age range in the county was well distributed with 25.5% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 102.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.7 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 2716, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 2673 White, 4 Black or African American, 13 American Indian, 10 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, and 15 from two or more races.
