Fairview City is a one of the Williamson County, Tennessee, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 5800 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 7870, making it Tennessee's 85th largest. It is spread over 14.15 mi˛ (36.65 square kilometre), of which, 14.11 square miles (36.54 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 50th largest by area in the U.S. state of Tennessee.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5800 people in the city, organized into 5369 households, and 3232 families residing in the city. The population density was 410.9 people per square mile (158.65/km˛), making it the 245th most densely populated city in Tennessee. There were 2245 housing units at an average density of 159.1 per square mile (61.43/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.76 persons, and the average family size was 3.17 persons.
