Fairfield County is a United States county located in the United States of Ohio. As of 2000 the population was 122759. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 142223, It is the 20th most populous county in the U.S. state of Ohio. The county comprises an area of 508.6 mi˛ (1317.27 square kilometre), of which, 505.11 square miles (1308.23 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.49 square miles (9.04 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 29th largest by size in Ohio.

For every 100 females there were 99.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.3 males. Its population was estimated at 142223 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 91.07% White, 6.48% Black or African American, 0.21% American Indian, 0.98% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 1.24% from two or more races.
