Fairbanks City is a city located in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska, United States. The population of the city was 30224 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 35132, It is the third largest by population in the U.S. state of Alaska. The city spans an area of 32.67 mi˛ (84.61 sq km), of which, 31.86 square miles (82.52 sq km) of it is land and 0.81 square miles (2.1 sq km) of it is water, it is the 154th largest in terms of geographical size.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 30224 residents, 11075 households, and 7187 families in the city. The population density was 948.7 people per square mile (366.3/km˛), it is Alaska's seventh most densely populated city.
