Fairbank City is one of the city of Buchanan and Fayette counties, Iowa, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 1041 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 991, It is the 264th largest by population in the U.S. state of Iowa. It covers total area of 0.61 sq mi (1.58 sq km), of which, 0.59 square miles (1.53 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 548th largest in terms of geographical size.
