Fair Lawn Borough is a borough located in Bergen County, New Jersey, in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. The population of the borough was 31637 as per the 2000 census data. The borough's estimated population as of July 2008 was 30521, It is the 40th largest by population in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The borough extends throughout a territory of 5.22 sq mi (13.52 square kilometre ), of which, 5.17 square miles (13.39 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 square kilometre) of it is water, making it New Jersey's 106th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 31637 people, 457 households, and 284 families living in the borough. The population density was 6121 people per square mile (2363.33/kmē), it would be the 79th most densely populated borough in the U.S. state of New Jersey.
