Excelsior City is a city located in the Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. In 2000, the population was 2393. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 2291, It is Minnesota's 214th largest by population . It is spread over 0.67 square miles (1.74 square kilometre), of which, 0.63 square miles (1.63 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 232nd smallest by total area among Minnesota.
