Evans County, Georgia is a county located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 10495. The July 2008 population estimate is 11646, giving it the 44th smallest population among Georgia's county. The county comprises an area of 186.88 square miles (484.02 kmē), of which, 184.92 square miles (478.94 kmē) of it is land and 1.96 square miles (5.08 kmē) of it is water, it is the 15th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Georgia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 10495 people, 3778 households, and 2680 families living in the county. The population density was 56.8 people per square mile (21.93/kmē), it is the 77th most populated county in terms of population density. There were 4381 housing units at an average density of 23.7 per square mile (9.15/kmē). The average household size was 2.62 people, and the average family size was 3.1 people. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 27.5% under the age of 18, 10.2% from 18 to 24, 29% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 12.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.1 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 11646, The racial makeup of the county was 66.82% White, 31.5% Black or African American, 0.68% American Indian, 0.39% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, and 0.55% from two or more races.
