Eureka County, Nevada is a county located in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The population of county in 2000 stood at 1651 as per the Census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 1628, It is Nevada's second least populous county. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 4179.96 sq mi (10826.05 sq km), of which, 4175.68 square miles (10814.96 sq km) of it is land and 4.28 square miles (11.09 sq km) of it is water, it is the 11th largest by area in the U.S. state of Nevada.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1651 people, 666 households, and 440 families living in the county. The population density was 0.4 people per square mile (0.15/kmē), it is Nevada's third least densely populated county. There were 1025 housing units at an average density of 0.2 per square mile (0.08/kmē). The average household size was 2.47 persons, and the average family size was 3.08 persons. Age range in the county was well distributed with 27.8% under the age of 18, 5.2% from 18 to 24, 28.6% from 25 to 44, 25.9% from 45 to 64, and 12.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 106.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 113.2 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 1628, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 1500 White, 8 Black or African American, 41 American Indian, 20 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, and 58 from two or more races.
