Eureka City is a city located in the McPherson County, South Dakota, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1101 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 937, making it the 66th most populous in South Dakota. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1 square miles (2.59 kmē), of which, 0.93 square miles (2.41 kmē) of it is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 kmē) of it is water, it is the 124th largest by area in the U.S. state of South Dakota. It is ranks 14 in the size of its inland waterways in South Dakota.
