Eureka City is one of the city of Woodford County, Illinois, located towards the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 4871. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 5368, giving it the 324th largest population among Illinois. Its area is just over 2.74 sq mi (7.1 sq km), of which, 2.69 square miles (6.97 sq km) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 sq km) of it is water, it is the 359th largest by area in the U.S. state of Illinois.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4871 people, 1754 households, and 1170 families residing in the city. The population density was 1810.5 people per square mile (699.04/kmē), it would be the 388th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Illinois.
