The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 25300, giving it the 260th largest population among California. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 14.45 miē (37.43 kmē), of which, 9.45 square miles (24.48 kmē) of it is land and 5 square miles (12.95 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 229th largest by total area among California.
