Eufaula City is a city located in Barbour County, Alabama, in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 13908 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 14502, It is the 42nd largest in terms of population. The city comprises an area of 73.48 mi˛ (190.31 sq km), of which, 59.42 square miles (153.9 sq km) of it is land and 14.06 square miles (36.42 sq km) of it is water, makes it the seventh largest by total area in Alabama. It is ranks fourth in the size of its inland waterways in Alabama.

As of the census of 2000, there were 13908 residents, 5447 households, and 3880 families in the city. The population density was 234.1 people per square mile (90.39/km˛), it would be the 304th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Alabama. There were 6110 housing units at an average density of 102.8 per square mile (39.69/km˛). The average household size was 2.51 people, and the average family size was 3.02 people. In the city Age distribution was 28.6% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 27.1% from 25 to 44, 22.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 86.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 79 males. The median age of the city's population was 36 years, the median age of male residents at 33.3 and the median age of female residents at 38. The racial makeup of the city was 7967 White, 5621 Black or African American, 40 American Indian, 65 Asian, 5 Native Hawaiian, 90 from two or more races and 120 Ohter races.
