Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 3493, It is 223rd most populous in Michigan. It covers total area of 1.38 sq mi (3.57 square kilometre), of which, 1.21 square miles (3.13 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.17 square miles (0.44 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Michigan's 398th largest by total area.
