Essex Junction Village is a one of the Chittenden County, Vermont, located in Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 8591 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 9056, It is the sixth most populous in the U.S. state of Vermont. It has total area of 4.85 sq mi (12.56 sq km), of which, 4.76 square miles (12.33 sq km) of it is land and 0.09 square miles (0.23 sq km) of it is water, making it Vermont's 13th largest by total area. It is ranks 12 in the size of its inland waterways in Vermont.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 8591 residents, 3409 households, and 2253 families in the city. The population density was 1804.1 people per square mile (696.57/kmē), it is 12th most densely populated city in Vermont. There were 3501 housing units at an average density of 735.5 per square mile (283.98/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.48 persons, and the average family size was 3.04 persons. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 26.4% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 32.9% from 25 to 44, 23.1% from 45 to 64, and 10% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96 males. The median age is 36.4 years, The median age of males and females living in Essex Junction Village was 35.2 and 37.6 years respectively. The racial makeup of the city was 8209 White, 59 Black or African American, 21 American Indian, 203 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 74 from two or more races and 25 Ohter races.
