Esperance Village is a city located in Schoharie County, New York, in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 380. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 374, It is the 57th smallest by population in the U.S. state of New York. It is spread over 0.53 square miles (1.37 sq km), of which, 0.5 square miles (1.29 sq km ) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 sq km) of it is water, it is the 90th smallest by area in the U.S. state of New York.

As of the census of 2000, there were 380 people, 149 households, and 107 families residing in the city. The population density was 757.7 people per square mile (292.55/kmē), making its New York's 283rd least densely populated city. There were 158 housing units at an average density of 316 per square mile (122.01/kmē). The average household size was 2.55 persons, and the average family size was 3 persons.
