Escambia County is a county in the United States of Alabama. The county has a population of 38440 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 37490, It is Alabama's 32nd most populous county. The county comprises an area of 952.95 square miles (2468.13 square kilometre), of which, 947.38 square miles (2453.7 square kilometre) of it is land and 5.57 square miles (14.43 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 12th largest by total area in Alabama.
