Erwin Town is a town in the Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. As of 2000 the population was 4537. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 4829, making it the 133rd most populous in North Carolina. The town spans an area of 4.06 mi˛ (10.52 sq km), of which, 4.02 square miles (10.41 sq km) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 sq km) of it is water, making it the 218th largest by size in North Carolina.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4537 people in the town, organized into 1896 households, and 1288 families residing in the town. The population density was 1128.8 people per square mile (435.83/km˛), making it the 163rd most densely populated town in North Carolina. There were 2032 housing units at an average density of 505.5 per square mile (195.17/km˛). The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.9. In the town Age distribution was 23.7% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 27.9% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 17.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90.9 males.
