Emmet County is a United States county located in the United States of Iowa. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 11027 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 10457, It is the 25th least populous county in the U.S. state of Iowa. The county comprises an area of 402.38 sq mi (1042.16 square kilometre), of which, 395.74 square miles (1024.96 square kilometre) of it is land and 6.63 square miles (17.17 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the fourth smallest by area in the U.S. state of Iowa.

The population density was 27.9 people per square mile (10.77/kmē), making its Iowa's 51st most densely populated county. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 24.2% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 23.8% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 19.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.3 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 10457, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 10270 White, 31 Black or African American, 48 American Indian, 41 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, and 66 from two or more races.
