Elmore County is a United States county located in the United States of Idaho. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 29130 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 28997, It is the 12th largest in terms of population. The county comprises an area of 3100.51 miē (8030.28 kmē), of which, 3077.57 square miles (7970.87 kmē) of it is land and 22.93 square miles (59.39 kmē) of it is water, it is the sixth largest in terms of geographical size.

In the county Population was distributed with 28% under the age of 18, 13.9% from 18 to 24, 36% from 25 to 44, 15% from 45 to 64, and 7.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 123.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 130.6 males. Its population was estimated at 28997 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 25968 White, 1221 Black or African American, 382 American Indian, 605 Asian, 61 Native Hawaiian, and 760 from two or more races.
