Ellis County is a county located in the United States of Texas. The county has a population of 111360 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 148186, making it the 26th most populous county in Texas. Its area is just over 951.66 mi˛ (2464.79 square kilometre), of which, 939.91 square miles (2434.36 square kilometre) of it is land and 11.75 square miles (30.43 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 98th largest by total area among Texas's county.
