Elkton Town is a United States town located in the Rockingham County, Virginia, United States. As of 2000 the population was 2042. The July 2008 population estimate is 2626, making it Virginia's 184th largest. The town encompasses an area of 1.4 sq mi (3.63 sq km ), of which, 1.37 square miles (3.55 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, it is the 112th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Virginia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2042 people in the town, organized into 862 households, and 556 families residing in the town.
