Elk County is a United States county located in the United States of Pennsylvania. It is home to over 35112 people (2000 census). The July 2008 population estimate is 32268, It is ninth least populous county in Pennsylvania. It is spread over 832.23 miē (2155.47 kmē), of which, 828.65 square miles (2146.19 kmē ) of it is land and 3.58 square miles (9.27 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 23rd largest by total area in Pennsylvania.
